Accommodation
We are unable to offer any accommodation away from the international chains in Monrovia, the capital. Those travelling beyond Monrovia should be prepared for basic accommodation and mobile camping in the Sapo National Park
Food and Wine
Because of the large expatriate community, and the good taste of educated Liberians, you can find restaurants to suit most tastes in Monrovia. Elsewhere there are roadside chop bars where collard green and sweet potato pie are the “daily special”!
Alternatively, goat soup with traditional bread made from mashed banana leaves is considered a national dish.
Wine from the new and old world can be found in the good restaurants of Monrovia. Ginger beer, poyo (palm wine) and strong coffee are popular. Given Liberia’s roots, it is logical that the distilling of rum is evident and there is a plan to make Liberian rum as easily acceptable as Jamaican rum
Visas
As visa regulations and local laws change frequently and often without notice, dmAFRICA can accept no responsibility regarding the need for or availability of visas, and suggests that the agent and the client check with the embassy of the countries to be visited in the issuing country of their own passports. The information below is therefore only a guide:
All visitors require an entry visa which costs £60 (US$90) and should be obtained in advance.
You should check the procedure with the website applicable to your nearest Liberian embassy or consul.
You will require a full passport valid for 6 months beyond the intended date of departure from Liberia.

Health
Malaria is endemic. You must consult your doctor before you travel to ensure that you are prescribed the correct type of protection.
Immunization against hepatitis and meningitis is recommended.
Please check the latest information with your medical practitioner
Water
We recommend drinking only bottled water throughout your stay.
Dress Code
The dress code is casual although some hotels require gentlemen to wear long trousers for dinner. Liberians tend to dress smartly. As it can be cool in the mountains and on safari evenings, you are advised to pack at least one warm sweater.
